SAN FRANCISCO, CA, May 21, 2023 - St. John's Sunday School concluded a highly successful academic year with a wonderful celebration on May 21, 2023. The event, eagerly anticipated by students, parents, and faculty, was marked by a series of lively performance, presentations and recognitions.

The celebration was an opportunity to showcase the students' talents and achievements throughout the year. It included an array of performances, from the singing of religious hymns and cultural songs to the recitation of poems. There was also a  selection of musical performances by the students, much to the delight of the attendees.

The highlight of the event was a spectacular dance performance by the Karoon Dance Ensemble. The ensemble's graceful and energetic routine was met with enthusiastic applause.

This past academic year has seen several noteworthy developments at St. John's Sunday School. Among the most significant is the doubling of the average attendance, a testament to the school's appeal and quality of instruction. The Sunday school also welcomed many new families, further enriching the diversity and dynamism of its classes.

As part of the culmination celebration, diplomas were presented to graduating students, a momentous occasion that marked the end of their journey at St. John's Sunday School, and the beginning of a new phase of parish engagement. Additionally, students with high attendance throughout the year were given special recognition for their dedication and commitment.

The event was energetically MC'd by Sunday School Superintendent, Sevag Sarkissian, and teacher, Cecelia Baloian.

At the conclusion of the event, Fr. Mesrop Ash, parish priest, congratulated the entire school and especially recognized Sevag Sarkissian for his fantastic work during his first year as superintendent.

The St. John's Sunday School Culmination Celebration not only marked the successful end of the academic year but also underscored the vibrant community that has been fostered by the program. It demonstrated the school's commitment to nurturing the spiritual, cultural, and intellectual growth of its students in a vibrant and welcoming setting.
