St. John recently opened its doors—and its kitchen—to welcome a group of cyclists from the Fuller Centre for Housing’s Bicycle Adventure. These dedicated bikers, who ride across regions to raise awareness and funds for affordable housing, were treated to warm hospitality and delicious home-cooked meals prepared by generous volunteers from the community.
Over the course of their stay, the bikers were served a hearty dinner and a nourishing breakfast, lovingly made by parish and community members. From Savory main dishes to sweet treats and hot coffee, every detail was thoughtfully prepared to give the cyclists a much-needed moment of rest and comfort.
The riders expressed deep gratitude for the kindness and generosity shown to them. Many noted that the warm welcome, cozy accommodations, and homemade food were among the highlights of their journey. The volunteers' efforts reminded them of the very spirit they ride to promote: building homes, building hope, and building community.
A big shout-out goes to all the volunteers who worked diligently to make the bikers feel at home. Their efforts did not go unnoticed and made a lasting impression on the guests, reminding us all of the power of kindness, service, and shared purpose.
This visit was more than a meal—it was a meaningful connection between people united by faith, mission, and love in action.
St. John’s involvement in hosting the Fuller Centre bikers is a shining example of local compassion meeting global mission. The event not only nourished the riders’ bodies but also uplifted their spirits, reinforcing the sense of connection that drives both the bikers and the volunteers to make a difference.
