Saturday, February 4, 2017, once again St. John Armenian Church hosted a benefit concert featuring young talented Armenian Artists, Dr. Tatev Amiryan, composer/pianist, and Nadima Avakian, soprano. Part of the proceeds was donated to the “Kantzer” choir of St. Anna Church in Armenia.

Fr. Mesrop Ash welcomed and thanked everyone for attending and supporting both the artists and the project. After a short video presentation in which Dn. Valodya Najarian and some of the “Kantzer” choir members talked about the choir and expressed their gratitude to St. John Church and the artists, Fr. Mesrop gave a brief biography of the performers and invited them on stage.

Tatev Amiryan performed technically demanding her piano solo compositions brilliantly, Waiting for the Dawn, Echoes from Childhood, Ortus, tristesse and Six Pictures, These pieces demonstrated her exceptional expressive, poetic depth and virtuosity.

Two songs, The Last Lullaby and When You Left, technically demanding renditions, were performed by Nadima Avakian with emotion and sensitivity.

It was a very spirited performance and inspiring to listen to these young artist performing together.

After the concert, one could sense the so-called "after-concert glow,"  shared between musicians and audience alike.
