It has been a wonderful tradition to commemorate St. Vartan and his Companions jointly with all the Bay Area Armenian Churches. Each year's commemoration takes place in one of the Armenian Churches. This year, St. John Armenian Church hosted the feast day.  The Divine Liturgy was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Asoghig Jamgochian, parish priest of St. James Armenian Church of Sacramento.

Upon completion of the Badarak Rev. Fr. Mesrop Ash, welcomed the clergmen, the parishioners, and thanked Fr. Asoghig, the deacons and praised the choir members for participating and singing the hymns beautifully.

Fr. Mesrop expressed that because of Sts. Vartan, Ghevont Yerets, we exist as a Christian nation today, and it is wonderful to see all the Armenian Church's faithfuls together, he then invited Rose Nemet to deliver the message day's about St. Vartan and the Battle of Avarayr. Ms. Nemet spoke about the heavy burden placed on every Armenian to be become the worthy recipient of the sacraficie of St. Vartan and his companions at the Battle of Avarayr.

Following services, the faithful were invited to join in Fellowship in the Church hall.
