When St. John Armenian Church of San Francisco announced that it would be launching a weekly Armenian Language class for adults at the beginning of October, the response was remarkable. On October 8, 2013, with over 30 registrants, free weekly Armenian classes began, providing Eastern Armenian instruction to students from teenagers to seniors and from a myriad of backgrounds.

A month later, two classes are being taught every Tuesday evening at 7:00pm, with new students from throughout the Bay Area arriving every week. The program is being led by Lusine Gevorgyan, a devoted parishioner of St. John parish and regular Sunday School teacher, with support from Parish Priest Fr. Mesrop Ash and other volunteers.

If you are interested in joining the Armenian Language program, learn more at St. John’s website, or contact the church office at (415) 661–1142.
