St. John Armenian Church is proud to announce its support the accomplishments of Armenia's Women's Support Center, prompting the Parish Council to contribute $5000 to the organization 2021.

One in four women in Armenia suffer from domestic violence, which is why the Women’s Support Center in Yerevan, www.womensupportcenter.org, provides essential services for the social fabric of Armenian society.  In 2021, WSC celebrated 10 years of helping women and families.

Executive director, Maro Matosian, established the organization and personally runs the shelters and their programs.  Their mission is “the prevention of domestic violence through the protection and empowerment of the survivors, the rehabilitation of family members, the advocacy for social reform to prevent partner violence, and the education of the public about domestic violence and its consequences.”
