On the evening of Sunday, December 11 St. John joined other member parishes of the Eastern Churches of the Bay Area (ECoBA), for a celebratory Christmas concert featuring One Voice, a band consisting of members across many denominations and communities.

St. John Parish was proud to participate in this event, represented by Garo and Nadima Avakian, who sang a selection from popular Armenian fold musicologist Komitas.

At the beginning of the event, Rev. Fr. Mesrop Ash joined members of the clergy in offering prayers for the victims of the recent and tragic bombing of the Sts. Peter and Paul Coptic Church in Cairo, Egypt.

"We join all of our Christian brothers and sisters from throughout the East, regardless of their denomination, in giving thanks for the birth of Jesus Christ and praying that he blesses the land with His peace during this Christmastide," said Fr. Mesrop regarding the auspicious event.
