Thursday, April 17 at 8:30-9:00pm and on Saturday, April 19 at 3:30-4:00pm a half-hour program will be aired on Food and Spirituality on KQED in the Bay Area.

This is a special broadcast exploring the ways we use food to connect us to our spiritual and cultural traditions in the Bay Area. The half hour takes listeners into the kitchen of Charles Phan, Vietnamese-American chef of The Slanted Door Group, to cook a dish served during Tet. Listeners also hear pieces about an Ethiopian New Year’s celebration, Armenians exploring their heritage through food, the celebration of the Hindu elephant god Ganesha’s birthday at a temple, and finally a meditation on the Buddhist tradition of Mindful Eating. Hosted by The California Report’s Rachael Myrow.
