Continuing St. John's goal to utilize our parish grounds to create a space wherein our faithful, especially our children, can grow closer to God by cultivating the Earth, Sunday School classes have resumed in the garden and several projects have been realized to enhance the space.

On Sunday, October 4, the younger members of our Sunday School joined in a Garden Ministry class led by returning parishioner Mrs. Ellen Eagen. The children read the passage from Mark Chapter 4 in which Christ explains that faith is a seed that must be planted in furtile soil. The children then proceeded to amend the dirt in the garden beds making the soil rich so that new seeds can grow.

Over the Summer we were thankful that one of our youth, Grant Hillman, renovated the garden entry path and installed a water drainage system to achieve his Eagle Scout rank. Also, thanks to the work of the Parish Council a drip irrigation system was installed as part of a larger ongoing project to landscape our parking lot.
