Join us for the traditional Armenian blessing of pomegranates as we prepare to welcome the New Year. This beautiful custom, observed by Armenian Christians for centuries, celebrates the pomegranate as a symbol of abundance, fertility, and God's blessings.
What to Expect
At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy on December 28, we will bless pomegranates for the New Year. Each participant will receive a blessed pomegranate to bring home for their New Year's celebrations.
About the Tradition
In Armenian tradition, the pomegranate symbolizes life, renewal, and prosperity. Families often break open the blessed pomegranate on New Year's Day, with the abundance of seeds representing the many blessings hoped for in the coming year.
All are welcome to participate in this meaningful tradition as we gather to seek God's blessing for the year ahead.
