St. John Parish is pleased to announce that applications for Hye Camp are now open to all active children and youth of our parish. Hye Camp offers a wonderful opportunity for young people to grow in faith, build lasting friendships, and take part in a meaningful Armenian Christian camp experience. Families with eligible children and youth are encouraged to begin preparing their applications now and to take advantage of this opportunity for the summer ahead.

As we journey through this holy season of Hisnag (Advent), we invite all parishioners to prepare spiritually for the Feast of the Nativity and Theophany of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through the sacrament of confession.

The Healing Power of Confession

Every Sunday at approximately 9:30 AM, we offer Morning Service prayers at St. John Armenian Church. This peaceful 45-minute service is a beautiful precursor to the Divine Liturgy.

The Morning Service includes several chants, prayers, and litanies unique to the morning office, with prayers and Bible readings offered in English. All faithful are welcome to attend.

The St. John Ladies Society welcomed the community to a joyful Fall Harvest Celebration on Saturday, November 15, and Sunday, November 16, held immediately following church services. The  celebration featured a lively Pop-Up Show and Sale showcasing the talents of local artisans, along with a special culinary highlight prepared by members of the Ladies Society.

On Saturday, September 6, the parish of St. John Armenian Church held its second St. John Cares* event—a community pop-up BBQ appropriately named “Grillin’ for Charity.” Organized by Parish Council members Dan Riley and Greg Cherezian, along with the ACYO under the leadership of Dn. Charles Cherezian, the courtyard of the church was transformed into a vibrant space of fellowship, service, and generosity.

On Sunday, August 17, the St. John Armenian Apostolic Church of San Francisco joyfully celebrated the Feast of the Assumption of the Holy Mother of God, one of the most beloved feast days of the Armenian Church. The day was marked by solemn worship, the traditional Blessing of the Grapes, and a vibrant community picnic filled with fellowship, food, and Armenian culture.

St. John Cares Night Brings Faithful Together in Service and Fellowship

On Friday evening, June 27, over 40 dedicated parishioners gathered at St. John Armenian Church hall for a heartfelt event known as St. John Cares Night. United in the spirit of compassion and community, volunteers came together to prepare care packages for those experiencing homelessness—demonstrating the living mission of the Church in action.

St. John recently opened its doors—and its kitchen—to welcome a group of cyclists from the Fuller Centre for Housing’s Bicycle Adventure. These dedicated bikers, who ride across regions to raise awareness and funds for affordable housing, were treated to warm hospitality and delicious home-cooked meals prepared by generous volunteers from the community.
