ACYO has been very active. September was full of cooking days with the ladies society for the food festival and Friday night hangouts. In October we had an overnight spiritual retreat with Fr. Mesrop and Dn. Charles. The night was full of discussion about prayer, baking rice crispy treats, and karaoke. Later that month we worked during the church’s annual food festival. We had a great time doing face painting and working various booths at the food festival.
November and December have been busy. Our church celebrated its 75th anniversary. Among the weekend celebrations, some of us were ordained as acolytes that weekend. This was a joyous event with Surpazan Hovnan Derderian and the congregation. For the Christmas holiday, we prepared and mailed gifts to our ladies society, had a Christmas outing to Pier 39 and Ghirardelli Square, participated in the St. John Annual Toy Drive to benefit the children at UCSF, and helped put on the annual church Christmas party. We look forward to the upcoming year full of continuing projects as well as new and exciting adventures.
