Dear Friends of St. John:
On Friday, April 28 at 7:00 pm we will again hold a “family night” dinner to honor the men and women who serve or have served this nation and Armenia in uniform. This year we will expand our “guest list” of honorees to include our current or past police officers, firefighters, and other first responders. We warmly invite you to attend and to bring your friends who might enjoy the evening.
Our Veteran Dinners are designed first and foremost to allow our community to thank those who serve. We always ask each Honoree to stand and to be recognized. Each is invited to speak if he or she so desires. We have an equally important purpose – educating the young about selfless real world service. We hope that you will bring your children and grandchildren.
We also hope to raise some money to help the soldiers who defend Artsakh from daily assault. Last year alone, 165 Armenian soldiers died in combat to protect their families and our land.
In keeping with our past Veteran Dinners, this will not be a fancy banquet. We will enjoy good, but modest food prepared by the Parish. Adults will be charged $10.00, and children under 18 will pay $ 5.00. All Veterans and our other Honorees will be our guests.
Please give your RSVP to the Church Office by noon on Wednesday, April 26. Doing so allows us to purchase the right amount of food.
