Dr. Jack Saroyan, D.D.S., invites our community to a special book launch and discussion of his new book Keep Smiling: An Insider’s Look at Dental Care. This event is being hosted by St. John Armenian Church on behalf of one of our longest-serving parish members.
Our teeth should last a lifetime. Yet for many Americans this is not the case despite the availability of advanced treatment and technology. Most dentists emphasize treatment over prevention. Daily oral hygiene is often discussed but is rarely taught in a practical way. Something is wrong when regular patients with common gingivitis are referred to a periodontal specialist. It is time for dentists, patients, and policymakers to take a closer look at the importance of oral hygiene habits and their connection to overall health.
Dr. Saroyan has a passion for helping people understand the importance of maintaining a healthy mouth. He ran a private dental practice for forty years, and for twenty years served as adjunct faculty at the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco.
