On August 7th, the St. John Armenian Church San Francisco junior ACYO set out for a four day trip to Lake Tahoe led by Rev. Fr Mesrop and Yn. Annie Ash and youth director Dn. Charles Cherezian. A special thank you to Katherine Zerounian and Naira Sujohn for chaperoning as well. Over 15 junior members we in attendance. The days were spent by having various fellowship activities. Activities included a hike and spiritual discussion in Emerald Bay State Park with Fr. Mesrop, enjoying the lake in different water and boating activities, cooking homemade meals in the evening, and enjoying the peacefulness of God’s nature. The most important part of the week was the various night discussions ranging in topics from essential lessons learned this year to positive and negative influences in a teens life. It was an excellent way for the ACYO teens to connect with one another. They discovered that the Armenian Church is a refuge for Christian teens in today’s virtual times. The event was such a success that a winter snow trip is being planned. St. John Church looks forward to many more ACYO activities this year and in the future.
